Options for Dyslexia Screening for the 2020-2021 School Year
Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, school districts in Oklahoma will be required to provide dyslexia screenings to all students in grades kindergarten through third grade. We at Epic realize that there is a need NOW for dyslexia screening. That’s why we are offering some options to our students/parents this school year.
Option 1:
Teachers, if you have a student in kindergarten or first grade who you believe shows signs of dyslexia, begin by creating an account at Lexercise and administer the Mississippi dyslexia screener to your student. While this isn’t a thorough screener, it is a great starting place for identifying a student who could be at risk for dyslexia.
Option 2:
If a K-3 grade student is identified as at risk on the Lexercise screener OR if you have a student in a grade higher than first grade, you can request a dyslexia screening through the Learning Fund and one of our approved vendors. The list of vendors and their dyslexia screening prices are below:
