ILP Checklist

This checklist has anything and everything that might need to happen during an ILP. Although you will probably not need to go over every single item, it will help you feel more prepared to at least look over everything. This way you don’t accidentally forget to talk about something.

⭐ Watch the newly-required videos (these should be in the ILP itself):

    1. What is EPIC?
    2. The EPIC OK Learning Fund Explained
    3. Requirements at EPIC
    4. Homeschool & Non-Accredited School Transfers
    5. Additional Orientation Information (PDF)

You can COPY this form and send it to your parents to complete before you meet together for the ILP to save time. DO NOT USE THIS ORIGINAL. YOU MUST COPY IT: How to Copy a Google Form (document to copy)

Here is the link to the official orientation page on the Epic website. It’s pretty intense, though, so just make the parents aware that it exists so that they can reference it if that have more questions later.

⭐ Not sure when your little student is graduating? This site will help.

⭐ Make sure that high school students have the correct calculator (TI-84 preferred)

⭐ Make sure you are super-clear about Epic Essentials and how important it will be this year

⭐ Discuss Parent/School Contract carefully

Discuss your syllabus (example)

Go over your pacing guide and explain how it works (example)

Go over your grading document and explain how it works (example)

Go over your recommended daily schedule (example by Brooke Alton)

Go over truancy policies

If applicable, go over the Next Step and ICAP program. Create your student’s OK College account for them, using their Epic username and the password Epic1234. That way you can log in and check their work.

Have them create a gmail account, if necessary

Sign them up in whatever announcement program you have selected (I recommend ClassTag)

Make sure they have downloaded the Gmail (Android/Apple) and Google Hangouts (Android/Apple) apps

Have them sign your Expectations Acknowledgement Form (example)

If possible, take a picture and upload it into the student’s facesheet in Epicenter

(ONLY AFTER AUGUST 01) Go through the Homework Help Orientation if they have not yet completed it
